We have been using Butaphalt® Reactant Additives and the CDS® process for the past seven years with great success. Our customers range from the Indiana Tollway, to the State of Indiana, to private parking lot owners. Some of the key reasons for using Polymer Modified Asphalt are increased life and reduced need for maintenance. For example the City of South Bend - a repeat user for the past 6 years - has used our product to great success in tough areas such as intersections and heavily loaded roads. They report increases of several years in life, greatly reduced incidence of low temperature cracking, and much improved resistance to rutting. Their best testimonial is the fact that they continue to use the product and find more and more places where it is proving to be a cost-effective solution.

We installed our first plant using the CDS process at our Milwaukee terminal in 2001. This was a new area of involvement for our company, and we have found the process to be efficient, flexible, and able to produce a very high quality final Polymer Modified Asphalt product. As a result of our positive experience here, we built a second plant in Gladstone, Michigan the year after, and our experience there has been as positive. In both areas, we are using the Butaphalt Additives to make a PMA that is stable, easy to apply, and high performing in the field.
